Schurgers Design is a company with a long history in the
motorcycle road-racing world. In the 60´s and 70´s, Jos
Schurgers (the Company's Director) earned his tracks in
the road racing World Championships. In 1971, he was 3rd in the
World Championship in the 50cc class, and in 1973, he won the GP
at Spa-Francorchamps and finished 3rd in the World Championship
125cc class on his Bridgestone road racer, designed and built by
himself. Using his accumulated road racing knowledge, he started
his own company in 1978. Born in 1978 Jarno Schurgers
quickly discovered his creative capabilities. After elementary
and high school he did the Grafisch Lyceum in Amsterdam. In 1997
he started his study Industrial Product Design at the University
of Professional Education in the Hague. During this study he did
several internships in Italy at Design Continuum Italia in
Milan, FIAT Auto Advanced Design in Arese and his graduation
project at the Centro Stile of APRILIA S.p.A. in Noale. He
graduated in 2002 as Bachelor of Engineering. Today he is part
of the family business and forms a close team with his father. |
